Reconnect a Social Account

Updated May 2026
Sometimes a connected account needs attention before distributeme can keep relying on current platform data. Reconnecting restores the access that account needs so invites, syncing, and campaign work can continue cleanly. This is usually a quick fix. The important part is reconnecting the same account you already use for campaign work.
1

Open the Flagged Account

Go to Social Accounts and open the account marked for reconnection or attention.

2

Reconnect the Same Profile

Use the reconnect button and approve access again. Before you continue, make sure you are signed into the same social profile you already use for campaign work.

3

Make Sure the Account Is Active Again

Once reconnection finishes, check that the warning is gone and the account is active again. If distributeme asks you to review setup details, finish that before you rely on the account for new invites.

Best Practices
  • Handle reconnection as soon as an account is flagged
  • Confirm you are reconnecting the same social profile
  • Handle reconnection quickly if you have active campaign work
Common Mistakes to Avoid
  • Ignoring a reconnection warning during active campaigns
  • Approving access from the wrong social profile
  • Creating a duplicate connection instead of fixing the existing one

Frequently Asked Questions

Does reconnection change my campaign preferences?

Reconnection mainly refreshes access. If distributeme asks you to review preferences afterward, complete that step before relying on the account for invites.

What if the reconnect window does not open?

If your browser blocks the reconnect window, continue the reconnect flow in the current tab and finish from there.
